The real debacle when wearing cowboy boots is about how they could look a fashionable rather than something someone would call a fashion faux pas. And so, without further ado, here are a few tips to remember in wearing these boots, and avoiding fashion mishaps.
- Boots aren’t cool in the heat of summer. You’re in a tropic country, with the sun at its peak glaring at you, and you notice a beautiful woman wearing a great ensemble from head to- uh oh. There aren’t many summer day outfits that can go well with cowboy boots, so do yourself and the fashion police a favor: put those shoes back in the closet and make sure they stay there until nightfall, when it’s socially acceptable to party in them for as long as you desire.
- Cowboy boots aren’t just for cowgirls. News flash: they go perfectly well with skinny jeans, tights and some dresses, and have been so since the fall of 2009. These boots were made for walking indeed, but not just in ranches or rodeos.
- Unless they are slouchy, boots should always fit at the calf. Fashion is about the right blend of style and comfort, so don’t hurt yourself in the name of beauty. The deciding factor for cowgirl boots is space, and the rule of thumb is: if the fit is just right – not too loose or too tight – the boots won’t see the daylight.

No doubt about it: Knee-high cowgirl boots are sexy and flattering. They make your legs look slimmer and your behind fuller, and women who wear them suddenly give off this tantric aura that just triggers sexual hormones from a mile away. Plus they can be worn anywhere, from the house to the office and then straight to the parties. It’ll always be in style because, in a word, it’s HOT. Just one tiny little problem: looking good in them is tricky. Not every outfit can match these shoes and not everyone can manage to wear them without looking like a tart. So, how DO you wear these pretty little things?
Here are a few basic pointers with knee-high cowgirl boots:
- Make sure that they fit snugly at the calf. The whole point of wearing these babies is to make you feel more confident about yourself, so be sure your boots fit comfortably. Nothing is worse than knee-high boots that have space at the ankles – that is just plain wrong.
- Check the mirror. It doesn’t matter if you copied the exact same outfit from the pages of a fashion magazine; if you don’t look at yourself and feel good about it then save yourself from trying to pull off the “look” and just pull off the boots instead. Looking sexy is all about feeling more comfortable with yourself, not pretending to be someone you’re not.
- Have fun. It’s about what you want to wear, not what they say you should be wearing, so loosen up and ride into the sunset – but not just in a cowgirl suit. Get creative, mix and match outfits, and you’ll discover a new “you” in no time.

If you love to wear over the knee boots with your dresses, skinny jeans or leggings, you are lucky because not many women would like to risk it because they are worried they won’t pull it off. Here is a piece of advise about knee-high boots, you do not have to tall and skinny to wear knee-high boots, all you have to do is find the right outfight.

Get Dressy
Your dress should be short or about 3 inches above the knee. This is for shorter women, those who are tall can wear a dress that is an inch above the knee.
Matching your Tights
You should match your tights to your boots especially for knee high ones, this would make you look taller and skinnier. Remember however that being too skinny is not good so for teens out there, it is alright to have a fuller body thank a skinny one. With these boots however, you only need tights that will make you look taller to go with the whole ensemble.
Avoid Visual Breaks
You should make sure that your tights do not end in the biggest part of your thighs, this will make you look short.
Avoid Looking Tacky
Looking tacky is not what you want. You should use wedged knee-high boots to avoid this. Do not buy knee-high boots with stilettos.

Three ladies sporting some fancy boots and

Ok, those look like Justin Boots with a pink Upper. I would guess she is one of the few ladies at the bar that might wear those boots during the day. They looked worn. As always we appreciate the Jean Skirt and Cowgirl Look.

The cougar here appears to be sporting a nice pair of Jusin boots with Turquoise Upper while testing her strategy of meeting men with money at the ATM machine.

I really like those boots, but please put some pants on.

If you are fond of dresses, you do not have to look all too formal. To add some ruggedness to your look, you can wear cowboy boots.
Airy Dress with Cowboy Boots
This style is usually used by celebrities and no, you do not need to be a celebrity to wear it. Choose a loose or airy dress that is above the knee to pair with your cute cowboy boots. Any boho type of dresses will do –it will not only give you a stylish look but you can walk around anywhere using this outfit.
Classic Dresses
You can wear that little black dress with your cowboy boots. If you have red cowboy boots you can wear them with a black, above the knee dress. This is for those who want a classier look and do not want to look too rugged.
Other Ways of Wearing your Cowboy Boots
You can wear your cowboy boots with tights or leggings. This is for the daring so make sure you do it right. Try not to use ripped leggings though because it takes away the attention from the boots. Use leggings, a tunic dress with a cardigan over and you are good to go!

Although Vogue fanatics may say that cowboy boots are not so “in” right this moment, you can always wear cowboy boots because they can be classy, stylish or rugged. Women can wear their cowboy boots with jeans –this is the classy way to wearing a pair of western boots. There are 2 methods to do this, one is wearing it under your jeans and the second one is to tuck your pants in the boots to show how pretty those cowboy boots are.
For the first method, this gives you some height while still looking casual. Use wide-legged jeans for this style since cowboy boots are often wide around the leg area. Make sure that your jeans are long enough to not show off the boots since this is the main purpose of this look. If you want to look thin and look like you have long legs, you should wear this look more often.
The second method –wearing your cowboy boots over your jeans is a good way to show off those boots. They are perfect with real tight jeans or skinny’s. Pair a leather jacket with your boots and you’d be looking like one of those stars from Hollywood.
If you love wearing dresses, pick one of those airy or loose dresses you have and wear your boots with the dress of your choice. White, off-white or light beige are good color choices.
