Fashion Faux Pas When Wearing Cowboy Boots
The real debacle when wearing cowboy boots is about how they could look a fashionable rather than something someone would call a fashion faux pas. And so, without further ado, here are a few tips to remember in wearing these boots, and avoiding fashion mishaps.
- Boots aren’t cool in the heat of summer. You’re in a tropic country, with the sun at its peak glaring at you, and you notice a beautiful woman wearing a great ensemble from head to- uh oh. There aren’t many summer day outfits that can go well with cowboy boots, so do yourself and the fashion police a favor: put those shoes back in the closet and make sure they stay there until nightfall, when it’s socially acceptable to party in them for as long as you desire.
- Cowboy boots aren’t just for cowgirls. News flash: they go perfectly well with skinny jeans, tights and some dresses, and have been so since the fall of 2009. These boots were made for walking indeed, but not just in ranches or rodeos.
- Unless they are slouchy, boots should always fit at the calf. Fashion is about the right blend of style and comfort, so don’t hurt yourself in the name of beauty. The deciding factor for cowgirl boots is space, and the rule of thumb is: if the fit is just right – not too loose or too tight – the boots won’t see the daylight.
